STUDIO III
Lubbock Lights Co-Op Museum

Spring 2014

Beginning with the abstract outlines of the inside of a vintage radio found at the thrift store. From electronics to high art, a museum was developed from the circuitry.

From the circuitry, the diagramming was overlayed with a map of the Lubbock Arts District in the south, studying the patterns of people's interactions in the area to see how best to design and proceed given our initial circuitry outlines. Various study models were developed regarding the site.

Our program was to develop a community museum in mind for an empty lot used for loading trucks in the Arts District. The museum would house both indoor and outdoor studios for visiting artists.

The development of the museum dealt with how the massing was created by intersecting circular with straight edges. A stepping pattern was thus created, and takes the orientation and cardinal points into consideration.
